On Street Parking and Commercial Vehicle Parking Enforcement Suspended Until May 1st
In accordance with Governor Whitmer’s Executive Order of Stay Home, Stay Safe, Harper Woods requirement to have an annual parking pass or temporary pass to park on the street overnight between 230 a.m. – 500 a.m. will not be enforced until May 1, 2020. In addition, contractors who reside in the city will be allowed to park their commercial vehicles on the street overnight as long as the parking of such vehicle is not in violation of any other parking ordinance or law and poses no safety hazard to the community. However, other prohibited parking violations will continue to be enforced.
The Harper Woods Department of Public Safety is concerned about the safety and health of its residents and requiring a parking pass at this time does not meet the Governor’s Executive Order requirement of staying home unless you are performing tasks necessary to the health and safety of themselves or family.
On behalf of the Public Safety Department, I want to assure the residents of Harper Woods that our operations are fully functional and ready to respond when called. I am proud of our First Responders and their dedication to protecting our residents.
Stay safe and healthy,
Vincent J. Smith
Director of Public Safety
