Lakeport PD Activity UPDATE. Over the weekend we have seen a continued decrease in traditional calls for service, which has allowed our officers to continue to increase foot and vehicle patrols and security checks of businesses, primarily those effected by the Shelter-In-Place orders. The weekend saw on additional 80 business checks and 240+ minutes of foot patrol to augment an average of 350 miles a day of vehicle patrols. We are seeing more people out of their homes with most of them abiding by the Social Distancing orders of the County Public Health Officer. We are beginning to track any contacts with those not adhering to the Public Health Order in the undesired need to issue repeat offenders Criminal/Civil citations. There is a light at the end of the tunnel so I encourage that we all stay the course for the sake of no loss of life in Lake County from COVID-19. Our prayers are with those who have already had to suffered that loss!
