Stay at Home and When Out Practice Social Distancing- COVID-19 Cases Confirmed in Frankfort

April 3, 2020 - Frankfort and surrounding communities have confirmed cases of  COVID-19. The COVID cases have been seen in a wide range of ages, genders, and ethnicities. Some people may be asymptomatic and although they do not feel sick, they may be spreading the virus. Residents need to ‘Stay at Home’ when not performing essential tasks, and when they are completing essential tasks, they need to adhere to social distancing rules.

‘Social Distancing’ which means stay at least six feet away from anyone who does not live in your home. Although information on the COVID-19 pandemic is evolving day by day, the one thing known is ‘Social Distancing’ works to slow the spread. It is up to YOU to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

As spring begins and temperatures warm, we understand that people want to get out to enjoy the climate change. Typically, this would be a time for outdoor sports, enjoying parks, and social gatherings. Know that we cannot enjoy typical spring weather activities this year as we are amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The Frankfort Police Department in conjunction with Mayor Holland and the Frankfort Village Board are asking our residents and community to adhere to ‘Social Distancing’ principles. The Old Plank Road Trail is ten feet wide. When passing, you should be single file right on the edge of the trail. Sidewalks are only three feet wide, so one party must walk on the grass or street to pass.

Information on social distancing and the COVID-19 pandemic has been shared through the news outlets, daily press conferences, signage, the village website, and social media. Again, we are calling on YOU to stop the spread of COVID-19!

All residents and community members must comply to help stop the spread. To the right is a map from Will County Health Department regarding cases of COVID-19. The cases increase daily, help yourself, your family, and your community by staying at home or when outside of the home, maintain social distancing.
