In accordance with the State of Georgia's Executive Order and the Administrative Order announced today by the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Jekyll Island's beaches are open for exercise under the provisions outlined in these orders, effective immediately.
Please be advised, the use of chairs, tents and/or umbrellas are prohibited. Social distancing mandates are still required, as follows:
- No groups of more than 10 people
- All people must be at least 6 feet apart at all times, unless living under the same household
Jekyll Island beaches will continue to be patrolled by Jekyll Island Park Rangers and Georgia State Patrol, to ensure provisions of the Orders are enforced.
The currently closed beach restroom facilities cannot be maintained effectively to ensure thorough and constant sanitation after every use and will remain closed until further notice.
