COVID-19 UPDATE:
WEARING MASKS IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Wrangell, AK – Yesterday, Dr. Fauci, the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and the State of Alaska Department of Health & Social Services, announced the recommendation that all persons wear masks when outside the home as a protective measure against COVID-19. Recent data shows the virus can be spread by people talking with each other.
Masks are in short supply as they are needed by health-care providers. If you already have a mask please wear it when outside the home. If you don’t have a mask please temporarily use a handkerchief or piece of cloth/fabric. The Borough is working on a plan for local hand-sewn mask-making. More details will be released as they are available.
Please remember, a mask DOES NOT eliminate the need for social distancing. ALWAYS remain SIX FEET from another person when out in public areas, or at work.
