Suspect 1: Maurice Gamble, 38 Years-of-Age, Resident of Riverside
Synopsis:
On April 4, 2020, officers from the Rialto Police Department responded to the 2300 Block of Brierwood Avenue in the City of Rialto, where it was reported that Maurice Gamble committed several felony crimes over the course of two days.
From April 2nd to April 4th, 2020, Gamble committed several crimes against a female victim, who he had a previous dating relationship with. Gamble appeared at the victim’s residence and forced the victim into his vehicle and drove her to a nearby Rialto location. Gamble stopped the vehicle and at gunpoint took the victim’s cellphone after threatening her with what was believed to be a semi-automatic handgun. Gamble then drove the victim back to her residence on Brierwood Avenue and released her. Gamble then fled in his vehicle. Gamble began using the victim’s cellphone to access her social media accounts and posted sexually explicit content of the victim on her own social media sites. Gamble then began texting the victim’s seven-year-old child, threatening to kill everyone. It is at that time, the victim contacted the Rialto Police Department seeking help.
After interviewing the victims and recovering evidence, a search warrant was endorsed by a San Bernardino County Judge. The Inland Valley Special Weapons and Tactics (IVS) team was activated and responded to Gamble’s residence, in the 14000 block of Quailridge Drive in Riverside. Gamble was found to be living at the location with a female and taken into custody. Officers recovered the victim’s cellphone, multiple replica semiautomatic handguns, an AR-15 assault rifle and rounds of ammunition. Gamble was booked into the West Valley Detention Center and charged with the following: PC 211 Robbery, PC 29800(a) (1) Felon in possession of a Firearm, PC 422 (a) Criminal Threats, PC 207 Kidnapping, PC 12022.1 (b) Committing a Crime While on Bail, PC 245 (a) (2) Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and PC 236 False Imprisonment. Gamble is currently being held on $250,000.00 bail.
Additional Information:
Gamble was previously arrested on February 12, 2020, by the Riverside Police Department after making threats toward Martin Luther King High School via social media. Gamble was subsequently released from Riverside County Sheriff Department’s custody after posting bail.
