Deputies arrest Mario Nunez for possession of a stolen vehicle

LOCATION: 24000 block of Lake Drive, Crestline
SUSPECT(S): Mario Nunez, age 23 a resident of Riverside
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On Monday, April 6, 2020, at approximately 3:40 a.m., deputies from the Twin Peaks Sheriff's Station located a stolen silver 2014 Toyota Camry in the parking lot of a local motel. The driver of the vehicle was contacted and identified as Mario Nunez. The license plates attached to the stolen Camry were also found to be stolen, but from a completely different Toyota, and attached to the vehicle as to avoid detection.
A records check on Nunez revealed he was on AB109 Post Release Community Supervision (felony probation), out of Riverside, for violation of PC496d(a), possession of a stolen vehicle.
Nunez was arrested for violation of California Penal Code Section 496d(a), possession of a stolen vehicle. Nunez was booked at Central Detention Center with a bail amount set at $50,000.
