Crescenta Valley Deputies participated in a birthday parade today in La Cañada Flintridge. 

The family of "Jake" called our station today asking if we could help.  The father stated his son was turning 12.  However, he could not have a traditional birthday celebration because of the necessary social distancing measures.  Instead, they planned to have a birthday parade, where friends and family would drive by the home and say happy birthday.  The father wanted to know if any of our Deputies could also drive by the house and say hello. 

Deputies Afsharian, Rostami, Howell, Hong, and Sergeant Taylor jumped at the chance to make someone’s day.  They drove by Jake's home and wished him a happy birthday.  Deputy Hong even sang happy birthday, a little out of tune though.  

While we understand social distancing is challenging for many of us, it is great to see the creative solutions the community comes up with.   

From everyone at Crescenta Valley Station, happy birthday Jake!  We hope it was memorable.
