City Parks Closure Notification
CITY PARKS CLOSURE
Our parks traditionally have an increase in visitors during the Easter holiday. However, crowding in parks makes it challenging for visitors to comply with the physical distancing requirements issued with the current Stay Home Stay Safe orders implemented by the City of Red Oak and Ellis County. With the current state of emergency, the City of Red Oak has made the decision to close all city parks for the safety and well-being of the public. All City of Red Oak parks will close during the Easter weekend to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The closure goes into effect Friday, April 10th through Sunday April 12th. This closure includes all City parks, pavilions, walking trails, basketball courts and restrooms. The City of Red Oak will place signage, caution tape, barriers and regular patrols to remind our community of the park closures. The City of Red Oak and the Parks and Recreation Department are implementing this change to ensure the safety of the community.
The City of Red Oak emergency management continues to monitor this ongoing and fluid situation closely along with Ellis County emergency management. Updates will continue to be posted to http://www.redoaktx.org/AlertCenter.aspx along with the City of Red Oak social media platforms. We appreciate the communities cooperation and wish each of you a blessed and safe holiday weekend.
