Advisory

April 9, 2020 Knowlton Township Coronavirus Update

As of last evening, there are 302 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Warren County, with 18 persons recovered and 9 deaths.  There are 7 cases in Knowlton Township.

On the County Level:

  • The County Coronavirus Testing center is now open and running successfully.  Yesterday 41 persons were tested. It has a daily capacity of 100.  Test results will take between 3 and 5 days. The County deserves to be recognized for this accomplishment--Warren County is one of the smallest counties in NJ, and this testing site was set up without state or federal assistance, with tests procured independently via a NJ manufacturer, and it is staffed with County employees.
  • The County has waived 2020 license fees for all local retail establishments. These restaurants and businesses are the ones that have supported our Little Leagues and fund-raisers over the years and they are in need now.  If you’re able, please support these establishments with your takeout order.
  • 65 individuals in Warren County have donation Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for distribution to local first responders and hospitals.  That is as much PPE as the county has received from the state and federal government and it has made a significant impact.
  • 20 local school nurses and detectives have begun training and credentialing to assist the Health Dept. in tracking and tracing positive-Covid patients in the county.
  • The Blairstown blood drive is scheduled for Monday, April 27 from 12:30 to 5:30. Residents must schedule an appointment to donate. Go to:  https://www.redcrossblood.org and type in zip code 07825 on the upper right. Blairstown’s blood drive is the first of three in the county in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. These drives are being conducted by the Red Cross, facilitated by Freeholder Jason Sarnowski, and assisted by local municipalities.
  • The peak number of COVID-19 cases is projected to take place somewhere around April 16, 2020. There is growing evidence that a flattening of the curve may be in the near future. We continue to ask everyone to practice social distancing, as it seems it is working.
From the State:
Yesterday Governor Murphy signed a number of executive orders, taking the following actions:
  • Ordering all non-essential construction projects to stop.  Road and infrastructure projects may continue.  Projects already underway involving individual single-family homes with a construction crew of 5 or fewer individuals can continue.  Septic and well repairs and replacements can continue.  There are many details to this complicated order—read them on the Knowlton Township website by clicking on Executive Order 122.
  • Moving the date of the June primary election to July 7.
