Deputies arrested John Kehnt, a convicted felon, armed with a loaded handgun

INCIDENT: Felon in Possession of a Firearm
LOCATION: 34700 block of Pecan St., Yucaipa
SUSPECT(S): John Kehnt, 44-year-old male, Transient from the Fontana area
SUMMARY: On Monday, April 13th, at approximately 9:45 a.m., a concerned community member reported suspicious activity – a male and female walking through a neighborhood knocking on doors. The subjects were seen getting into two vehicles and leaving the area.
Deputies responded and located one of the vehicles driving through a neighborhood several blocks away from the initial location. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, driven by John Kehnt, a transient out of the Fontana area. The other vehicle, a white Honda with gold rims, left the area prior to deputies arriving and was not located.
During the traffic stop, Kehnt was found to be on post release community supervision and was wanted on a felony, no-bail warrant. Kehnt, a convicted felon, was also found to be in possession of a loaded handgun.
He was transported and booked into the Central Detention Center where he is being held without bail.
