Deputies conducted a vehicle check and arrested Jairo Guzman for Felon in Possession of a Firearm & Parole Violation

LOCATION: Overcrest Dr./ Hampton Rd., Yucaipa
SUSPECT: Jairo Guzman, 34-year-old male from Chino Hills
SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at approximately 9:11 a.m., deputies initiated a check of a vehicle at the park and ride lot located on Hampton Rd. near Overcrest Dr. in the City of Yucaipa. The vehicle, registered to an address in Yucaipa, had expired registration and the driver gave a false name when contacted.
As deputies investigated, they identified the male as Jairo Guzman of Chino Hills, who was found to be on Post Release Community Supervision and wanted for violation of parole. During a search of the vehicle, deputies located a loaded Smith and Wesson revolver inside the vehicle. A records check showed the gun was stolen in the Los Angeles area in 1998. Additional suspected stolen property was also found in the car.
Guzman, a convicted felon prohibited from owning a firearm, was booked at Central Detention Center and is being held without bail.
