Investigators arrest (S) Christopher Seifert after he set fire to a residence in Thousand Oaks. On April 19, 2020, at about 5:09 PM, the Ventura County Fire Department received a call of a structure fire in the 700 block of Benson Way. Fire department personnel arrived on scene and saw the fire was already extinguished by residents. There was minimal fire damage to the residence, which was contained to one bedroom. Their investigation determined the fire was the result of arson. Christopher Seifert, a resident of the property, was identified as a suspect in the crime. Seifert was arrested and booked into the Pre-Trial Detention Facility on one felony count of arson and one felony count of elder abuse since there was another occupant of the home who is over 65 years old. |
