Motorcycle Collision on Foothill Ave
On April 18th, at approximately 5:00 p.m. Morgan Hill Police responded to the intersection of Foothill Ave and Maple Ave on report of a motorcycle collision with major injuries.
When officers arrived on scene, they located the involved vehicles and a male subject north of the intersection. The male subject had been ejected from his motorcycle during the collision. He sustained significant injuries and was unresponsive. Morgan Hill Police officers along with members of the California Highway Patrol and Morgan Hill Fire Department began rescue efforts. As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist surcumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the motorcylist is being wittheld until notifications are made by the County Coroners Office.
The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Prior to the collision, witnesses observed the motorcyclist traveling northbound on Foothill Ave. The other driver was traveling westbound on Maple Ave. The motorist stopped for the stop sign and continued through the intersection prior to the collision. MHPD Traffic Units responded to the scene and are investigating the fatal collision.
