Meridian Police Searching for Prowler
On April 24th, 2020 at 5:15am, Meridian officers responded to a prowler on the 4000 block of S. Bradcliff Ave. Upon arrival officers spoke with the homeowner and reviewed video footage from their security system, which showed someone attempting to enter her garage through the man-door. The footage showed a male dressed in all black, wearing a backpack, purple latex gloves, and a N95 face mask. A flood light activated, resulting in the male fleeing. Nothing was stolen and no damage was located.
While canvasing the area, at 5:39am, Meridian officers located a computer and a piece of purple latex glove on the front lawn of a home on the 4000 block of S. Marsala Ave. Meridian officers made contact with the homeowner, and upon further investigation it appears the suspect entered the home through an unlocked garage door and removed the computer from inside. All items were recovered and no damage was located.
The Meridian Police Department reminds residents to lock their doors, windows, and fence gates, especially at night. Also make it a routine to check doors, windows etc. to verify they are secure before going to bed.
