UPDATE - 04/28/2020 - DNR TO ALLOW OPEN BURNING

The statewide burn ban has just been lifted. Burn permits will be required as they always have in the past for outdoor burning for areas outside of the St. Louis City Limits.

The St. Louis Police Department issues burn permits for the parts of Gratiot County covered by the St. Louis Area Fire Department. Call the St. Louis Police Department at (989) 681-5285 Monday - Friday between the hours of 8a-4pm to get a burn permit.

IT IS ILLEGAL TO BURN BRUSH OR TRASH INSIDE THE ST. LOUIS CITY LIMITS. Only recreational campfires are allowed inside the City of St. Louis upon inspection and approval.
