City of Alhambra Offers Housing Assistance for Residents Impacted by COVID-19
Alhambra, CA — The City of Alhambra, in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, are offering emergency financial housing assistance to residents who have experienced financial hardship due to the pandemic.
“Many families are hurting right now because of this emergency,” said Mayor Ross Maza. “The City wants to help provide some relief in these uncertain times.”
The City received funding from the Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus Fund (CDBG-CV) to help residents in need.
Applications for the Housing Assistance CDBG-CV will be accepted from April 28th - May 10th on the City’s website: www.cityofalhambra.org/resources/coronavirus-housing-assistance.
A total of 200 income-eligible households may receive $500 a month for three months, from June 2020 through August 2020.
To qualify, households must have experienced loss of income because of COVID-19. Additionally:
· Households must meet HUD low and moderate-income restrictions at no more than 80% of the area median income adjusted to family size.
· The owner or renter-occupied unit must be the owner or renter’s primary place of residence.
· Income and housing payment documentation are required.
