Advisory

April 29, 2020 Knowlton Township Coronavirus Update

Good evening-- Tonight Warren County is reporting 903 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Warren County.  312 of those are associated with long-term care facilities.  There have been 167 recoveries and 83 deaths.  There are 10 cases in Knowlton.

The County Covid-19 testing facility remains open on Tuesdays and Fridays.  Warren County residents can sign up for testing at http://www.co.warren.nj.us/Healthdept/wccovidtesting.html

Today, Governor Murphy issued Executive Order 133, which re-opens state parks and forests and allows county parks and golf courses in New Jersey to operate under restrictions starting this Saturday.  The parks will be open to all passive recreation (hiking, fishing, etc.) but playgrounds and restrooms will remain closed and social distancing requirements remain in effect.  The full details can be found on the Knowlton Township website.

Help is needed to re-supply local food banks, many of which are being used heavily right now.  The closest one to Knowlton, located at the United Methodist Church at 509 Route 94, is currently feeding approximately 20 families.  They are in need of grocery store gift cards or non-perishable food items such as:

  • pasta
  • macaroni & cheese
  • canned vegetables
  • canned fruit
  • snack packs for children
  • juice
  • any other donation
Anyone who can help should leave their donation in the box at the door of the church.  Deputy Mayor Debra Shipps will also pick up any donations.  Contact her at 908-217-0836 or [email protected].
The staff will disinfect all products before being shared.  Anyone picking up a bag of food can do so in a drive-through pickup line of cars.  The foodbank is open on the last Saturday of each month.
