The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a
* Flood Warning for... Southeastern Mineral County in eastern West Virginia...
* Until 700 PM EDT.
* At 217 PM EDT, reporting gauges indicate stream levels approaching flood stage on Patterson Creek. The creek will likely exceed flood stage this afternoon. Basement flooding and agricultural flooding are likely, and some road closures are also likely due to floodwaters.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Fort Ashby, Burlington, Russelldale, Reeses Mill, Patterson Creek, Headsville and Wagoner. This includes flood prone locations Headsville Road along Staggs Run... and Patterson Creek Road along Patterson Creek.
* AFFECTED AREAS: MINERAL, WV
Instructions:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
