Flood Warning until 09:00PM

The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has extended the

* Flood Warning for... Southeastern Mineral County in eastern West Virginia...

* Until 900 PM EDT.

* At 643 PM EDT, reporting gauges indicate stream levels near flood stage on Patterson Creek. The creek has likely crested this evening, but is still close enough to flood state to extend the warning. Basement flooding and agricultural flooding are likely, and some road closures are also likely due to floodwaters.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Fort Ashby, Burlington, Russelldale, Reeses Mill, Patterson Creek, Headsville and Wagoner. This includes flood prone locations Headsville Road along Staggs Run... and Patterson Creek Road along Patterson Creek.

* AFFECTED AREAS: MINERAL, WV

Instructions:

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
