On 04-30-2020 at 5:42am, Vigo County Deputies were dispatched to Chamberlain St just north of St Rd 42 in reference to a vehicle/pedestrian crash. An SUV traveling south on Chamberlain St driven by Kathy Shepard of Terre Haute swerved to go around a garbage truck, driven by Jarrett Fagin of Terre Haute, and crashed into a tree. While they were standing at the scene assessing the damage, another vehicle driven by Graham Reinoehl, also swerved around the garbage truck, striking both Kathy and Jarrett. Kathy Shepard was pronounced dead at the scene. Jarrett Fagin was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
