Today at approximately 4:30 p.m., the Frankfort Police Department responded to a Ruse Burglary in the 300 Block of East Nebraska. The offenders claimed to work for a utility department and were allowed access to the home. They were able to obtain valuables from within the home without the victim’s knowledge or consent. No one was physically harmed during this incident. Offender number one is described as a 5’6’’- 5’8’’male with a stocky build, wearing a yellow construction type coat, a lanyard, brown work gloves, and a green surgical mask.  Offender number two is described as a younger male wearing a baseball cap, yellow construction type shirt, black gym shoes, and a white surgical mask. Please remember to verify the identity of any workers who approach your home. Legitimate workers should have credentials with them to verify their employment.  In most cases workers will not show up unannounced without you having made an appointment. You can call their employer’s listed phone number to verify their employment and their purpose at your residence. If you are suspicious of a worker’s legitimacy, you should contact the police department for assistance. We continue to ask community members to call in ANY suspicious persons, vehicles, and incidents. Even if you are not sure if its a suspicious person, please call us to prevent the victimization of others.
