SUSPECT: Gilbert Pena, 29 years old, resident of Apple Valley
VICTIM: State of California
SUMMARY: On May 1, 2020, deputies responded to the area of Oak Glen Road and Calimesa Boulevard reference an Automated License Plate Reader alert. The vehicle was reported stolen earlier in the day from the city of Riverside. Deputies conducted a high-risk traffic stop in the Taco Bell drive-through. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was identified as Gilbert Pena and placed into custody without incident.
Pena currently has four pending felony charges in the county of San Bernardino since March 2020, to include robbery, burglary and possession of a stolen vehicle.
In compliance with statewide emergency bail schedule, bail for most misdemeanor and felony offenses must be set at $0. Pena was booked into Central Detention Center and later released without posting bail due to the emergency bail schedule.
