The Major Accident Investigation Team responded to a single vehicle collision with several children ejected & injured

LOCATION: Greenspot Road / Santa Ana Canyon Road, Highland
SUSPECT: Eric Ortega, 28 year old resident of San Bernardino
Driving a white 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe
VICTIM(S): Five injured juvenile passengers – ages 6-10 years old
SUMMARY:
On Saturday, May 2, 2020, at 7:13 p.m., Ortega was driving his 2002, white Chevrolet Tahoe west on Greenspot Road near Santa Ana Canyon Road. For reasons still under investigation, the Tahoe left the roadway and entered a dirt field where the vehicle rolled and several of the juvenile passengers were ejected and suffered severe injuries. The children were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Ortega displayed obvious signs of intoxication and was taken into custody.
