The Contra Costa County Health Department announced today that COVID-19 testing is now available for anyone who wants to be tested, regardless of whether you have COVID-19 symptoms.  Testing is done by appointment only at one of eight (8) testing locations throughout the county.  Anyone who is interested in being tested should telephone (844) 421-0804 to learn more about the testing process and make an appointment.
 
The latest Health Officer order allows several new activities, effective May 4^th (this past Monday).  These activities include some public recreational facilities, including golf, skate parks and tennis (singles).  However, people still need to practice social distancing and wear masks when in close proximity to people.  The Town has received several complaints about kids in the skate park not complying with social distancing requirements.  If this continues, the Town may need to again close the skate park. 
 
Other activities that are allowed include construction, real estate, childcare (for children of people working at essential services and businesses), outdoor businesses (such as landscaping and gardening services) and dental offices for urgent, emergency, or routine care. 
 
Everyone still needs to abide by the Health Officer’s orders regarding facial coverings, sheltering-in-place, and social distancing.  When outside, everyone must carry masks or facial coverings and use them whenever they come within 6 feet of others outside their own households. 
 
Please remember these 5 keys to preventing the virus:
**Hands – wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap.
**Elbow – cough or sneeze into the crook of your elbow.
**Face – don’t touch your face.
**Space – give each other space – stay 6 feet apart unless you live in the same household.
**Home – stay at home and abide by the shelter-in-place order.

Restaurants are open and serving their excellent food for take-out, including cocktails, beer, and wine.
