Advisory

Current Public Health Order restrictions remain in place.

Although Governor Newsom announced that some retail businesses could begin slowly reopening on May 8th, Marin County will not be relaxing its health order to allow curbside retail business this week.

Marin County, in collaboration with six other Bay Area counties, has its own Public Health Order and individual counties are allowed to keep more stringent stay-at-home rules in place. Dr. Matt Willis, Marin County Public Health Officer, said that the County wants to “reopen safely and thoughtfully” and that curbside retail service is not yet allowed in Marin. Reopening safely requires time for businesses to prepare and the County is planning now to begin phased reopening of some businesses on May 18th .

Marin County has a three phase plan for reopening our County and details about that plan can be found at www.marinrecovers.com The site is interactive and provides daily updates and resource information for residents and business owners. The County is also forming retail industry advisory groups where business owners can provide their input to public health officials about safety protocols specific to their type of business. Sign up for the working groups by May 15th at https://t.co/lqDjjNtUFj

We are making progress and although it is not easy, we need to stay the course.
