Advisory

May 8, 2020 Knowlton Township Coronavirus Update

Good evening—Tonight Warren County is reporting 1,040 cases of Covid 19 with 239 recoveries and 102 deaths.  Ten of those cases are from Knowlton.   There is good news to report-- It appears that Warren County peaked in early/mid April and since then cases (outside of long-term care facilities), hospitalization rates, and ICU rates have all been trending down.

From the County:
Warren County, along with the Centers for Disease Control, has changed their guidance about the length of insolation for people who have tested positive for COVID‐19.  They are now recommending anyone who has tested positive and is without symptoms and continued illness may discontinue self‐isolation at 10 days.  This change was made after studies showed that patients can still shed the illness 9 days after sickness.

From the State:
New Jersey’s state of emergency has been extended for another 30 days to June 5.  The Governor is expected to announce on Monday a limited relaxation of some of the current restrictions. The NJ Attorney General is now investigating the growing death toll from Covid-19 at long-term care facilities in the state. The investigation will focus on those facilities that have had a “disproportionate number of deaths.” An online link,   https://covid19.nj.gov/forms/ltc, has been set up to allow individuals to alert State officials to any problems anonymously.
