#LASD Homicide Bureau is Seeking Witnesses in a 2019 Murder Investigation #Azusa
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau is asking for the public’s help in a 2019 murder investigation. The shooting occurred Sunday, July 14, 2019, at approximately 4:44 p.m., near the intersection of South Azusa Avenue and Gladstone Street in the city of Azusa.
Investigators are seeking witnesses who saw the man in the attached composite drawing, shoot and kill victim Medrano last year. The composite was developed with the assistance of a witness.
The witness described the shooter as a male Hispanic in his 20’s, approximately 5’10” - 6’ tall, medium build, and dark hair.
They’re also attempting to locate the suspect’s black Toyota Corolla, 4 doors with a partial plate of “924”.
Victim John Medrano was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead later that night. Mr. Medrano was a 24 years-old resident of Azusa when he was shot and killed.
The 16 year-old juvenile that was with victim Medrano that day, was not injured in the shooting. He also is a resident of Azusa.
The shooting is believed to be gang related.
