Go '10-8' With Chief Allan Shields Wed May 13
The ongoing Shelter in Place Order has prevented the Danville Police Department from continuing programs like Coffee with the Cops, which allowed police a chance to directly interact with the community in a non-threatening environment.
Not to be deterred, Danville Police Chief Allan Shields is coming to you via Facebook Live in a new community program called, '10-8.'
What does "10-8" mean?
"10-8" is the radio code every officer says at the start of their shift and every time they finish helping someone and are ready to help someone else. "10-8" is the radio code an officer uses to say they are "in-service." We felt it was a great title for the weekly program to reinforce to all of our residents and businesses that the officers in Danville are here in service to the community.
Come join us every Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. on Facebook Live. Each program will have updates on what is happening in the Town of Danville, crime prevention tips, and answers to viewer questions. Community members can email questions to [email protected]. Questions can also be asked in the comment section on the Facebook Live.
