Be aware of scam letter being mailed out regarding COVID-19 Mandatory Testing
Please be aware of a scam letter is being mailed to some residents regarding mandatory COVID-19 testing. The letter appears to be official and appears to be sent by the Department of Social Services. The letter indicates that mandatory COVID-19 testing is required for all residents that are receiving social services benefits. The letter also states that benefits will be suspended if the recipient refuses to take the test. The letter goes on to say that minors living in the home would be removed from the home if any adult in the home were to test positive for COVID-19. This is a scam. There is no mandatory testing and children will not be removed from homes. If you receive this letter, please contact the Monterey Park Policd Department. DO NOT RESPOND BACK TO THIS LETTER!!!
