Flood Warning until 07:00AM Thursday

The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Flood Warning for... Bourbon County in southeastern Kansas... Cherokee County in southeastern Kansas... Crawford County in southeastern Kansas... Barton County in southwestern Missouri... Vernon County in west central Missouri... Northwestern Jasper County in southwestern Missouri...

* Until 700 AM CDT Thursday.

* At 1253 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a large shield of rainfall which will cause flooding. This rain was moving very slowly and has already produced up to one inch of rain.

* Creeks, streams, and low water crossings will be especially susceptible to the dangers of flooding. Basins that will be most impacted include, Lightning Creek, the Marmaton River, the Little Osage River, the West Fork of Dry Wood Creek, Dry Wood Creek, Cow Creek, Cherry Creek, portions of the Spring River, and Muddy Creek. This warning includes but is not limited to the following low water crossings... Route K at Dry Wood Creek east of Arcadia... Highway 126 at The Spring River 3 miles north of Jasper... Highway 31 at Little Osage River 5 miles west of Fulton... Route H at The Spring River just west of Jasper... and Route D at The Spring River just southwest of Purcell.

* AFFECTED AREAS: BARTON, MO ... BOURBON, KS ... CRAWFORD, KS ... VERNON, MO ... CHEROKEE, KS ... JASPER, MO
