May 13, 2020, Knowlton Township Coronavirus Update
Tonight Warren County is reporting 1,064 cases of Covid-19 with 289 recoveries and 110 deaths. Knowlton remains at 10 cases. A series of graphs provided by the county, which show the progression of Covid in the county since its onset, are attached below.
On the Federal level:
New Jersey school districts received $310 million in federal K-12 aid through the CARES Act to help offset expenses from the pandemic. The new funds can be used to help districts with their response to the coronavirus, including internet access and devices for students or other resources needed to support both students and teachers. Knowlton Township Elementary received $22,878. North Warren Regional High School received $41,063.
On the State level:
Today Governor Murphy issued Executive Order 142 allowing nonessential businesses to reopen for curbside pickup and nonessential construction to resume starting next Monday. Nonessential retail stores are permitted to offer curbside service, but no customers will be allowed inside retail stores yet. The executive order also clarifies that effective immediately, drive-in and drive-through events — including drive-in movies — are permitted as long as people stay in their cars. The full executive order can be found here: https://nj.gov/infobank/eo/056murphy/pdf/EO-142.pdf
The easing of restrictions comes after the state has seen a decrease in the rate of new cases, deaths, and hospitalizations. Residents are urged to continue social distancing and using masks when leaving home so that the positive trend is sustained.
