The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
Northern Livingston County in central Illinois...
Southern La Salle County in north central Illinois...
Southern Grundy County in northeastern Illinois...
Kankakee County in northeastern Illinois...
North central Ford County in east central Illinois...
Northern Iroquois County in east central Illinois...

* Until 1230 AM CDT.

* At 829 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated very heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will likely cause minor flooding in the
advisory area. Up to one and a half inches of rain has already
fallen in portions of the advisory area, particularly northern
Livingston County.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Kankakee, Bourbonnais, Bradley, Streator, Pontiac, Manteno, Dwight,
Momence, Herscher, Clifton, Gardner, Grant Park, St. Anne,
Flanagan, Chebanse, Wenona, Odell, Braceville, Aroma Park and
Hopkins Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, urban areas, highways,
streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low
lying spots.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
