* Flash Flood Warning for...
Northern Livingston County in central Illinois...
Southeastern La Salle County in north central Illinois...
Southern Grundy County in northeastern Illinois...
Southwestern Kankakee County in northeastern Illinois...
* Until 315 AM CDT Friday.
* At 912 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to two and a half inches of
rain are estimated to have already fallen in portions of the
warned area, particularly in northern Livingston County. Flash
flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other
drainage and low lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Streator, Pontiac, Dwight, Herscher, Gardner, Flanagan, Chebanse,
Odell, Essex, South Wilmington, Cornell, Rutland, Buckingham,
Cabery, Long Point, Campus, Reddick, Dana, Emington and East
Brooklyn.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
