For the second time in two days, KCSO arrests suspect after pursuit with stolen motorcycle in Oildale
On May 14, 2020, at 11:20pm, a Kern County Sheriff’s Office deputy located a stolen motorcycle driving in the area of Oildale Dr. and Washington Ave. The deputy attempted to stop the motorcycle and it failed to yield, leading deputies on a pursuit. The KCSO Air Unit joined the pursuit as the suspect began driving northbound in the southbound lanes of N. Chester Ave. Deputies discontinued the pursuit due to the suspects dangerous actions and the Sheriff’s Office helicopter continued following the motorcycle. The suspect abandoned the motorcycle in the 400 block of Francis St and fled on foot. The suspect fled into a nearby garage and deputies were directed to that location by the helicopter crew. The suspect, Joshua Gadbury (38 y/o) refused to exit the garage and tried to hide from deputies. A KCSO K9 was used to apprehend Gadbury.
Gadbury was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, evading an officer, resisting arrest, being a felon in possession of pepper spray, and a no-bail felony warrant. The motorcycle was stolen out of Paso Robles, CA. This is the second stolen motorcycle pursuit in the Oildale area in the past two days.
