City of Alhambra Press Release
COVID-19 Testing in Alhambra
Open for Two More Weeks
Alhambra, CA — The City of Alhambra is encouraging Alhambra residents who have symptoms of COVID-19 to get tested.
With funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the City opened the Drive-Up and Walk-Up Testing site on Second Street and Main Street earlier this month.
The site is staffed and run by Vital Medical Services. Patients will be screened with a nasal swab that is administered by a licensed health care professional.
During the first week, 343 people were tested and seven of them received positive confirmations for COVID-19.
The testing site is open BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., until May 29.
Residents can visit the City’s website at www.cityofalhambra.org/resources/coronavirus-testing to make an appointment.
The eligibility for screening is as follows:
• Residents who are exhibiting symptoms of fever, cough, shortness of breath or who are subject to a mandatory 14-day quarantine period due to a confirmed COVID-19 exposure (with more than 7 days of quarantine remaining).
The testing process takes between 5 and 10 minutes but waiting times may vary. Results will be returned within 12 - 48 hours.
