Suspect: Tyler Passanisi (In-custody)

On Saturday, May 16th, 2020, at approximately 4:50 PM, Redwood City Police Officers responded to a residence in the 600 block of Oakridge Drive on a report of a stabbing that had just occurred. As officers arrived on scene, the victim was located in front of the residence and suffering from a stab wound to the abdomen. The suspect, who is a relative of the victim was identified as Tyler Passanisi (18 years old), and was located inside the residence. Passanisi was detained and arrested at the scene without incident. The weapon used to stab the victim was a kitchen knife, which was recovered at the scene.

The victim was transported to Stanford Hospital and treated for life-threatening injuries. Passanisi was booked into the San Mateo County Jail for Attempted Murder.
