Deputies are conducting an investigation regarding possession of narcotics(ecstasy pills) for sale

INCIDENT: Possession of Controlled Substance for Sale
LOCATION: Cherry Avenue / Foothill Boulevard, Fontana
SUSPECT(S): Guadalupe Valenzuela, 25 years old
Keith Powell, 26 years old
SUMMARY:
On Saturday, May 16, 2020, at approximately 4:30 a.m., Deputy G. Jimenez conducted a traffic stop on a black Nissan Altima in the area of Cherry Avenue and Foothill Boulevard in the city of Fontana. Deputy Jimenez spoke to the driver who was identified as Guadalupe Valenzuela. Guadalupe told Deputy Jimenez she was a Lyft driver and was giving her three male adult passengers a ride.
During the investigation Guadalupe was found in possession of 42 ecstasy pills and a large sum of money. The front passenger Keith Powell who was on active felony probation initially gave Deputy Jimenez a false name because he believed he might have warrants for his arrest. Guadalupe was released at the scene and the report will be submitted to the District Attorney for review. Powell was transported and booked at West Valley Detention Center.
