On 05/18/20 at approximately 9:34 PM, Officers of the SPPD initiated a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle for a vehicle code violation in the area of Highway 126 and Peck Road. The vehicle initially yielded on the 126 westbound, however, after the Officer requested that the suspect vehicle pull to the next exit for safety reasons, the suspect fled. A pursuit was initiated westbound on the 126. The Pursuit entered the City of Ventura, continuing on Wells Road to Los Angeles Avenue. The pursuit reached the City of Camarillo eventually terminating at Central Ave near Highway 101 after the suspect vehicle became disabled after entering a dirt road. The suspect, Angel Luis Rangel of Santa Paula, was taken into custody on three outstanding warrants related to domestic violence, a Probable Cause Want issued by SPPD on 05/12/20 for 273.6 PC Violation of a Domestic Violence Restraining Order, 2800.2 VC Felony Evading, and 14601.2 VC, Driving on a Suspended License.
