PROJECT WORK PLAN – WEEK OF MAY 25 AND BEYOND
No work will take place on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25.
On May 26, Rockland Electric Company contractor crews will be begin splicing cable in the manhole on Broad St. in Norwood. This work is expected to continue through June 1. Work will take place daily Monday through Saturday
Traffic will be detoured around this work so that it may proceed safely. The Borough of Norwood Police Department will assist with traffic control.
The traffic control plan requires that both lanes of Broad St. will be closed at the Broadway intersection.
Through traffic will be detoured east on Broadway to Tappan Rd. and then to Blanch Ave. to access local Broad St. traffic from the Blanch Ave. intersection.
All local traffic will be able to enter all business establishments on Broad St. from Blanch Ave.
In order to safely access and work in the manhole for cable splicing both lanes need to be closed at the Broadway side only on Broad St.
The traffic disruption will occur from approximately 8:00 am until 4:30 pm. Both lanes of Broad St. will be re-opened to through traffic at the end of each workday.
On June 2, Rockland Electric Company contractor crews will begin splicing cable in a manhole on Blanch Ave. in Norwood between the railroad tracks and Tappan Rd. This work is expected to take place through June 8. Work will take place daily Monday through Saturday.
Traffic will be detoured around this work so it may be performed safely. The Borough of Norwood Police Department will assist with traffic control.
The traffic control plan for this work requires closing the westbound lane of Blanch Ave. from Tappan Rd. to Valley Place. The eastbound traffic lane of Blanch Ave. will be open. Through traffic will be detoured north on Tappan Rd. to Broadway. The lane will be re-opened at the end of each workday. Traffic disruption hours will be approximately 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
This cable splicing work is in addition to the on-going boring work on Blanch Ave. that has been in progress since February 11 and is expected to be completed by July 3. The cable splicing work is being conducted by separate contractor crews.
