As Mayor it is my honor to welcome you to Beach Haven on Memorial Day weekend 2020.  Not only is this the time we set aside to remember and honor those who have served to protect our country and our freedom, but it is also the unofficial beginning of the summer season.  

It saddens me that I cannot stand with you on Veterans’ Field to honor our dead and wounded and all who have given up so much to protect our way of life. However, I know that I speak for the entire Borough when I say that those sacrifices will never be forgotten in Beach Haven. 

At this time, I ask that we also take a moment to honor those impacted by the coronavirus and those working on the front lines to stop its spread. These individuals are fighting a different kind of war but it is a dangerous one, and those fighting the disease deserve our vigilance and support. Together we can beat the coronavirus.   

Looking ahead to the summer, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our picturesque town, our beautiful beaches, and our expansive bay.  Enjoy walking, biking and jogging down our streets, but please follow social distancing rules. These are required by the State of New Jersey when in public, so make sure you follow the law. The sooner we stop the spread of coronavirus, the faster we can fully open up and return to normal.  

In the meantime, please support our local merchants by ordering take-out food and by visiting your favorite Beach Haven shops and restaurants online - most of which are offering delivery or curbside pick-up. Your support is vital during this difficult time. 

In closing, please join me in honoring our fallen, our veterans, our first responders, and those we have lost to the coronavirus.  This Memorial Day we can all be heroes by using common sense and protecting others from this dreadful disease.
