Flood Warning until 12:45PM Saturday

The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Flood Warning for... Bourbon County in southeastern Kansas... Crawford County in southeastern Kansas...

* Until 1245 PM CDT Saturday.

* At 1240 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rainfall has occurred over the area. This rain has or will continue to cause flooding. Two to four inches of rain have fallen, and additional rainfall will be possible late this evening. Please note: this areal Flood Warning replaces the Flash Flood Warning and Flood Advisory that had been previously issued.

* Creeks, streams, and low water crossings will be especially susceptible to the dangers of flooding. Locations in the warning include... Pittsburg... Fort Scott... Frontenac... Girard... Arma... Marmaton... Mulberry... Franklin... Bronson... Arcadia... Uniontown... Walnut... Redfield... Hepler... Beulah... Croweburg... Yale... Petersburg... Farlington... Brazilton... This warning will remain over mainly rural areas of Bourbon and Crawford Counties.

* AFFECTED AREAS: BOURBON, KS ... CRAWFORD, KS

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying spots. A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
