Thanks to several calls from community members, the white delivery van was located in a Gilroy neighborhood. The occupants were identified and interviewed. It was determined the individuals were delivering newspapers for a local company. Pursuant to an investigation, they were released at the scene with no further action taken at this time.

On May 21, 2020, at 12:30 PM, a white unmarked delivery van was driving in the area of Larkspur Lane and Rockrose Court in Gilroy when a male passenger got out of the van and ran toward a young female juvenile who was sitting on a set of steps on the side of the house. At that moment the girl’s mother came outside. The male abruptly stopped, appeared startled, and ran back to van, which was pulling up in front of the house. The male jumped into the van and it fled toward Mantelli Drive.
The van was being driven by a black male adult in his 30’s (no further description). The passenger was described as a white male adult, 25-29 years old, approximately 5’11”, “skinny” build, with dark black curly hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans. The van was described as being similar to a package delivery van with a sliding front passenger door.
Neighborhood surveillance is being examined for video footage. We will update this post if further information is discovered.
