Single Vehicle Crash

Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that deputies from the Cass County Sheriff's Office investigated a single vehicle crash which occurred on 05-23-2020 at approx. 0700 Hrs. This crash happened near the intersection of Cassopolis Rd and Mt. Zion, Calvin Twp., Cass County, Michigan. Initial investigation shows that a south bound vehicle on Cassopolis Rd. lost control of their vehicle and crashed into a parked truck and trailer in a driveway. The southbound vehicle was driven by 20 year old Elkhart resident, Troy Jeffrey Eppert Jr. Eppert was transported to Elkhart General Hospital by Edwardsburg Ambulance for injuries sustained in the crash. Seatbelts were worn.

Alcohol/Drugs were a factor in this crash. Assisting Agencies at the scene were Edwardsburg Ambulance, Penn Township Fire Department and Cass County Fire Department. This accident is still under investigation.
