INCIDENT: Criminal Threats, Assault with a Deadly Weapon & Corporal Injury on Spouse/Co-Habitant

LOCATION: 9200 block of Forest Falls

SUSPECT(S): Robert Ray Snook, age 31 a resident of Forest Falls

VICTIM(S): Confidential Victim


SUMMARY: On May 20, 2020, deputies from the Yucaipa Police Station began an assault investigation. Through investigation, it was determined the incident occurred in the unincorporated area of Forest Falls. The suspect in the assault was identified to be Robert Ray Snook. Snook and the victim were involved in a verbal argument that escalated to a physical altercation. Snook physically assaulted the victim and at one point, Snook obtained a handgun and threatened to kill the victim. The victim was able to leave the location, and law enforcement was later notified of the assault. The victim sustained multiple, non-life threatening injuries during the altercation.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Specialized Enforcement Division assisted Yucaipa detectives with locating Snook. On May 26, 2020, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Snook was taken into custody in the city of Redlands. Detectives subsequently served a search warrant at Snook's residence and seized firearms and ammunition. Snook was interviewed and later transported to the Central Detention Center in San Bernardino, where he is being held in lieu of $100,000.00 bail.
