KCSO arrests suspect for burglary
On May 21, 2020, at 4:30pm, Kern County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 8900 block of Oak Hills Ave. for a burglary which had just occurred. The victim reported an unknown white male entered their open garage and attempted to steal a bicycle. The victim’s 10-year-old daughter saw the suspect and yelled at him. The suspect dropped the bicycle and fled on foot from the residence.
Part of the incident was captured on surveillance cameras. The video was shown on local media outlets, which lead to a member of the public calling the Sheriff’s Office to report the suspect was possibly Michael King (59-years-old). Deputies contacted King, who admitted to being in the area at the time of the burglary. An arrest warrant was obtained for King and he was arrested in Wasco, CA, on May 27, 2020, for burglary and theft during a state of emergency. He was booked into the Central Receiving Facility. The Kern County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the public and the media for their help in solving this case.
