| Narrative: |
A structure fire resulted in the death of a woman in the Santa Susana Knolls.
On 5/27/2020, at approximately 4:49 PM, personnel from the Ventura County Fire Department responded to a remote area of the Santa Susan Knolls in reference to a call of a brush fire. When firefighters arrived, they discovered that in addition to the hillside, a residential trailer was fully engulfed in flames. After the fire was extinguished, firefighters discovered a deceased person inside the trailer.
Sheriff’s Major Crimes investigators, along with Ventura County Fire Department and Sheriff’s Arson investigators, responded to the scene to investigate. Though the investigation is still ongoing, the initial indication is that the fire started inside the trailer while the victim was home alone.
