On May 30th, 2020, the Sleepy Eye Police Department received a report of an adult male attempting to lure in a juvenile boy into his car on May 23rd, 2020. It happened near the intersection of 1st Ave N. and Oak St around 11:30 PM. The juvenile avoided the stranger and ran home. The juvenile described the white male as being in his late 30's, had a bald head, having a patchy gruffy beard, and wearing a gray tank top. The vehicle was described as being blue in color, having four doors, and possibly being a 2000's model in ruff shape. Juvenile stated it was possibly a Toyota Corolla. The vehicle contained brown moving boxes in the back and passenger seat. The juvenile was offered $30 to get in the vehicle and to show him where the nearest gas station was. 

The Sleepy Eye Police Department would like all parents to speak with their children about stranger danger and what to do in similar situations.
