Mayor Mike Anderson Issues Emergency Proclamation, Curfew Order for Lafayette

Lafayette Mayor Mike Anderson today addressed the City in a Facebook Live broadcast during which he announced that he had issued a proclamation declaring a local emergency and imposing a curfew in the commercial district of the City of Lafayette, effective immediately, from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., each day until further notice. Should the Lafayette Police Department receive information on a planned protest or anticipate events within the City of Lafayette, notifications will be made via Nextdoor, Facebook, Twitter, the City's e-notifications and the City's website. If a situation arises of an immediate threat to the safety of our residents and the security of our businesses, Lafayette Police will issue a Nixle alert.
