The Sleepy Eye Police Department would like to thank all that supplied information about this situation. Three separate people supplied information that allowed us to quickly identify the vehicle, the driver, and the location the vehicle was traveling. The elderly male was located, and an Officer spoke directly to him. The male was attempting to check the brake lights on the trailer and poses no threat to the public. We ask that all citizens be aware that approaching an unknown Juvenile, even with good intentions, is frightening and confusing for the Juvenile. We ask that everyone understand that with the threat of abduction being very real in today’s world that no adult should approach or communicate with an unknown Juvenile when their parents are not present.
